Heaven, Our Real Home – a poem

Beach sunset

At times I stand out near the shore, quiet and alone,

And gaze beyond the distant stars and think about my home.

    I keep it’s picture in my heart and every now and then

I bring it out to look at it, then tuck it back again.

     Those old familiar faces I can’t help but long to see;

The look of joy my Father has as He embraces me.

     Such treasure that awaits me there, mere words cannot express.

A place so fair and wonderful, so filled with happiness.

     I’ll never find such beauty on this earth wherever I roam.

My heart is where my treasure is; heaven is my home.

  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
